Social responsibility

VVO bears social responsibility, both for its clients and for its personnel.

For its clients, VVO is a safe and reliable contractual partner. A key principle of housing rental is a transparent rental policy and only moderate increases in rental charges. Client service, the housing stock and living environments are being constantly developed to meet changing residential needs.

Active and multi-level co-operation with residents is very much a part of how VVO operates. A target of co-operation with residents is to create a community spirit, and give residents the chance to be active in and influence the buildings in which they live, and thus to increase the safety and comfort of the living environment.

VVO is also a responsible employer for its workforce. Long-term employment is always the goal, and equality is observed in all operations. Special attention is paid to personnel development and welfare at work by investing in management and supervisor training. Each VVO employee is responsible for maintaining a good working environment.

A pleasant environment through the activity of residents

VVO houses encourage residents to be active. The idea of voluntary activity is for the residents to make their own living environment pleasant through united efforts.

A house committee will organise different activities, such as residents´ events and meetings, joint voluntary work, garden parties and clubs. VVO supports such activity financially, and has reserved a grant for it, which amounts to e0.03/m2/month. For a 50-apartment building, that equates to about e1,000 a year.
